AVM, case 1
Clinical history
This 71-year-old female patient had started to suffer from urinary disturbances and progressive weakness of both legs 2 years before, and over the 3 months prior to the evaluation became unable to walk.
Neurological examination revealed diminished pain and temperature sensation at the T10-T11 level, impaired proprioception in both legs, and a severe paraparesis.
Pre-operative MRI
Images 1 - 2: Sagittal Gd T1WI. An enhancing mass lesion is seen in the conus.
Images 3 - 4: Coronal Gd T1WI. The conus is enlarged.
Post-operative MRI
Images 5 - 6: Sagittal T1WI.
