Dural arteriovenous shunt of the vein of Galen

This 58 year old female patient had a known arteriovenous malformation of the vein of Galen for which she had undergone several endovascular treatments resulting in partial occlusion of the shunt.
The patient became neurologically stable and was followed-up by MRA.

Follow-up of a partially embolized dural arteriovenous shunt of the vein of Galen.
Fig.1 MIP reconstructions with angular differences of a complex dural arteriovenous shunt of the vein of Galen from a 3D PC MRA acquisition data set. A relatively low velocity encoding value (Venc: 30 cm/s) was selected in this case in order to optimally visualize blood supply from the external carotid artery branches.
