Fig.1 The DSA image (left) with selective injection of the left common carotid artery shows an atheromatous plaque with ulceration at the origin of the internal carotid artery (arrow). The targeted 3D TOF angiogram of the left carotid bifurcation (right) also shows the ulcerated plaque at the level of the stenosis (arrow). The contours of the plaque are rather ill-defined.
