Intraparenchymal cyst

CLINICAL HISTORY:
The patient complains of headache.

NEUROLOGICAL EXAMINATION is normal.

MRI:
a) TRANSAXIAL T2-WEIGHTED (5600/128/0) SPIN-ECHO SEQUENCE (IMAGE 1): Ovoid hyperintense cystic lesion is seen (arrowhead) in the anterior pole of the left temporal lobe.

b) TRANSAXIAL T1-WEIGHTED (600/14/1) SPIN-ECHO SEQUENCE (IMAGE 2): The cyst (arrowhead) is hypointense.

c) CORONAL (IMAGE 3) AND SAGITTAL (IMAGE 4) GADOLINIUM-ENHANCED SPIN-ECHO SEQUENCES: No enhancement of the cyst wall or the cyst content is noted (arrowhead).

RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS is intraparenchymal cyst. The lesion seems too far lateral for a choroid fissure cyst.

No surgical or pathological confirmation is available.
