Paranasal imaging

CT is commonly used to provide information about signs of inflammatory (infectious) disease of the paranasal sinuses and to make a pre-operative roadmap for planned endoscopic surgery. Conventional X-ray of the paranasal sinuses has a limited place in diagnosing pathology, and is nowadays mainly used to detect fluid collection or fractures. MRI can add valuable information regarding tumours, destruction and invasiveness.
