Rouleaux

Lump of erythrocytes looking like a "money roll" under a microscope. Rouleaux formation is normal in non-moving or slow-moving blood. The rouleaux are very weak and will break apart with very low shear forces in circulating blood. More irregular erythrocyte lumps may appear if blood is mixed with non-ioniccontrast media
