Mammography

From Latin: mamma = breast. Special X-ray examination of the breasts to look for breast tumours. Many countries have special mass screening programmes for women from 40 or 50 years upward to detect possible signs of breast cancer at as early a stage as possible. The images from mammography are called mammograms.
