Cardiovascular system

MRI, special ultrasound examinations (Doppler), and nuclear scans are the modalities suitable for cardiac imaging. Ordinary X-ray techniques will provide information about cardiac size and can give some information about the different compartments or chambers. On the other hand X-ray is very valuable in evaluating the state of the  pulmonary vascular tree, especially in cardiac insufficiency.

X-ray technique (angiography), Doppler-ultrasound, special CT exams and MRI are all used in different settings for imaging of vessels.
